brief

Design a poster for the V&A, showcasing a future exhibition to be held at the museum. The exhibition must be for a graphic designer of your choice, and the poster itself must emulate the style of this graphic designer.

concept

I decided to research and mimic the style of Paul Rand, widely considered the ‘father’ of graphic design, and known for bringing the Swiss style of design to America. For this brief, I chose to bring together elements from his early work on magazine covers for Direction magazine (in particular his cover for the Vol.3, No.4 issue in April 1940), as well as his work on a logo for AIGA in 1982.
